Class 042 · Service
Services
Computer and software services and scientific services. Everything on this page is work Enlightec performs — the goods we supply are covered separately under Class 009.
042.1
Software as a Service
Applications we write, host and keep running, billed as a service rather than sold as a box.
MedPharm ERP
An enterprise resource planning system built for pharmaceutical operations — inventory, ordering, dispensing records and the reporting that has to sit behind them. Developed and maintained by Enlightec, deployed as a hosted service or installed on customer infrastructure.
- Hosted, on-premises, or containerised deployment
- Available under GNU GPL v3 or proprietary licence
- Data stays where the customer requires it to stay
Bespoke hosted applications
Line-of-business software written for one organisation’s actual process rather than bent to fit a package: scheduling, records, quoting, reporting, internal tooling. Written to be handed over — documented, licensable, and not dependent on us to keep the lights on.
- Requirements taken from the people doing the work
- Source and documentation delivered with the system
- Maintenance retained or transferred, your choice
Software line
Enlightix
Enlightec’s longest-running software line, with a public history reaching back to the Google Code era and a repository maintained on Enlightec’s own infrastructure today. Published, like MedPharm, under GNU GPL v3 or a proprietary licence depending on the engagement.
042.2
Technology services
The general engineering work that keeps an organisation’s technology coherent.
Systems administration
Windows Server, Linux and macOS estates — provisioning, patching, backup strategy, monitoring and the unglamorous maintenance that prevents outages rather than responding to them.
Networking
Design, configuration and troubleshooting of routed and switched networks: addressing, VLANs, routing policy, firewalling, VPN, and packet-level diagnosis when the symptom and the cause are in different places.
Migration & integration
Moving systems between platforms, hosts and generations without losing data or history — and getting applications that were never meant to talk to each other to exchange what they need to.
Automation & scripting
Recurring manual work turned into something that runs on a schedule and reports when it does not. Shell, Python and C where the job needs the speed.
Virtualisation & containers
Consolidating aging physical servers, packaging applications for repeatable deployment, and building the images and orchestration around them.
Procurement advice
Independent specification of what to buy before anyone buys it — matched to the workload, the budget and the service life you actually need. Supply follows under Class 009.
042.3
Technical support
Named-platform support across the vendors on our filing, plus general end-user and infrastructure support.
| Platform | Typical equipment | What we do with it |
|---|---|---|
| Cisco | Catalyst switching, ISR/ASR routing, ASA and firewall appliances, wireless controllers | Configuration and change, IOS upgrades, VLAN and routing design, access control, fault diagnosis, RMA coordination |
| Juniper | EX switching, SRX security, MX routing | Junos configuration and commit discipline, security policy, routing protocols, upgrades and rollback planning |
| Intel | Xeon and Core platforms, server boards, network adapters, storage controllers | Firmware and microcode currency, thermal and power validation, driver stack, performance investigation |
| AMD | EPYC and Ryzen platforms, Radeon graphics | BIOS and AGESA currency, memory population and validation, virtualisation features, driver stack |
| NVIDIA | Quadro/RTX professional graphics, data-centre accelerators | Driver and CUDA toolchain, multi-GPU configuration, workstation certification, thermal and stability testing |
| Logitech | Keyboards, pointing devices, headsets, conference room hardware | Deployment at scale, receiver and pairing management, firmware, conference-room commissioning |
042.4
Web design
Sites built on plain, durable standards — fast to load, possible to edit, and still working after the framework that was fashionable at launch has been abandoned.
Design & build
042Structure, identity and layout worked out together, then built as standards-based HTML, CSS and JavaScript. Responsive by construction, accessible by default, and light enough to load on a bad connection.
Rebuild & migration
042Legacy sites moved off table layouts, dead plugins and unsupported platforms — content preserved, URLs preserved where they matter, and a mirror of the old site kept for reference.
Hosting & upkeep
042Certificates, DNS, backups, updates and uptime checks handled on a schedule, so the site does not quietly expire between the people who used to look after it.
Engagement
How we take the work on
Three arrangements cover almost everything. If none of them fit, say so and we will write one that does.
| Model | Suits | Basis | Response |
|---|---|---|---|
| Project | A defined build, migration or rebuild with an end state | Fixed scope, quoted | Scheduled |
| Retainer | Ongoing support and maintenance of a known estate | Monthly, by hours | Agreed targets |
| Call-out | One-off faults, advice and short pieces of work | Hourly | Next available |
Rates and response targets are quoted per engagement. They depend on the size of the estate, the platforms involved and the hours you need covered. Ask for a quote and you will get a written one.
